* Turn off any virus protection software (i.e. SAM, Gatekeeper, Disinfectant, or Virex). Some virus protection software can prevent TouchBASE from installing properly.
* Double click on the file TouchBASE 2.0 Demo on your hard drive. This will create a new folder on your hard disk called TouchBASE 2.0 Demo•.
Note: You should make sure that you have about 550K worth of disk space on your hard disk. If you don't, you may get a message stating that the file is corrupted when you double-click the TouchBASE 2.0 demo file. This message only indicates that one of the files that is being created cannot be fully built because there is not enough hard disk space.
• Installing TouchBASE in System 6
1. Inside the TouchBASE 2.0 Demo• folder is a file named TouchBASE 2.0 Prefs. Move it to your System Folder.
2. Double-click the TouchBASE 2.0 demo icon. It looks like a small suitcase and is inside the TouchBASE 2.0 Demo• folder. This will launch the Font/DA Mover. The Font/DA Mover opens with the Desk Accessory radio button selected and TouchBASE Demo displayed in the left box.
3. Click on the Open... button below the empty box on the right. A dialog appears asking you to select a file to open. Locate and open your System file (within your System Folder). You will return to the Font/DA Mover screen with your installed desk-accessories listed in the right box and TouchBASE Demo in the left box.
4. Click once on TouchBASE Demo in the left box to select it. Click the Copy button to install the TouchBASE Demo into your System file.
5. Click the Quit button and restart your computer.
• Installing TouchBASE in System 7
1. Inside the TouchBASE 2.0 Demo• folder is a file named TouchBASE 2.0 Prefs. Move it to your Preferences Folder within the System Folder.
2. Double click on the TouchBASE 2.0 demo demo icon. It looks like a small suitcase and is inside the TouchBASE 2.0 Demo• folder. A window will open showing the TouchBASE Demo desk-accessory.
3. Copy the TouchBASE desk-accessory to the Apple Menu Items folder within the System Folder. That’s all!

You have successfully installed the TouchBASE Demo. To run the demo, select TouchBASE Demo from the Apple menu. You will be prompted to select a TouchBASE file to open. We have provided you with a sample file: Sample.Data. It is inside the TouchBASE 2.0 Demo• folder. Locate and select Sample.Data using the displayed dialog. To create a new TouchBASE data file, select the Open Other… command from the TouchBASE menu. The displayed dialog will let you open or create new TouchBASE files.
